Communiqué from the Young Communists of Bouches-du-Rhône to the KNE (Young Communists of Greece), following the student elections in Greece. Issued on 21/05/2023 in Marseille.
Dear comrades,
The Jeunesse Communiste des Bouches-du-Rhône sends you its warmest greetings.
We would like to congratulate you on your victory in the student elections, where the candidates supported by your organization won against those of the bourgeois organizations.
For the students of Greece, this victory is further support in the struggle against the destruction of higher education and research and its opening to private capital, as desired by the European Union and the Greek bourgeoisie.
This victory encourages us in France to continue our organizational work and action among students, and more widely among youth. Wherever we were present, we participated in blocking high schools against the retirement reform and helped to structure high school struggles. Among our young workers, we have been involved in the CGT unions and the actions carried out to block production and the employers’ profits. Lately, our organization has been active on the university campuses of our department for the construction of the students’ Comité de lutte to fight not only for the defence of the material conditions of students but also in the struggle against the bourgeois government and its policies.
These Comités played a decisive role in the recent involvement against the retirement reform, where one of the campuses of Aix-Marseille University (AMU) was occupied by students before being brutally evacuated by the forces of repression.
This May 21st is an important date: the Greek people are called to the polls to elect the new Greek Parliament. The workers of Greece will have the opportunity to send real representatives of the working class by voting for the only candidates of the people, those of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE).
Greece is one of the few countries in Europe and in the world where there is a genuine, class-based, and revolutionary Marxist-Leninist Communist Party.
Unfortunately, in France, the PCF no longer plays its role as the vanguard party of the working class, depriving it not only of political representation in the bourgeois parliament but also of a powerful and essential tool in the struggles.
This lack is one of the factors contributing to the declining involvement against the retirement reform, which, nevertheless, was the most powerful of the last 40 years.
Dear comrades, because your struggle is also ours, because "only the people save the people", we wish you well, but also a full success in the elections of May 21st and especially in the struggles to come!
Communist greetings,
The Jeunesse Communiste des Bouches-du-Rhône.
